Vaglaskógur forest
The rangers ensure that there are ski trails in Vaglaskógur forest on weekends during the Winter Festival. Parking by the Forestry. Wonderful to ski in the woods! More info on facebook.

Sel-Hotel Mývatn offers cross-country ski trails from Skútustaðir.
Stakhólstjörn - Álftabára - Haganes. Subject to weather and snow conditions.
